We do the DJ Dancing & Family Movie Night almost every Saturday, so swim on in and stay awhile! And downtown, as part of the special Hayward Musky Festival, there’s a parade featuring the Musky Queen.
Have fun in the sun by participating in our watermelon games! Show your skill by consuming one of these delicious watermelons in our eating contest, along with playing other goofy games. At night, join the town of Hayward in celebrating our Independence Day with fireworks at the local school. It will be a weekend you’ll remember.

2,500-plus bicyclists start their journey right on the streets of downtown Hayward for the Chequamegon Fat Tire Race. It’s a sight to see for young and old alike. Here at the KOA, we do our part by providing a complimentary spaghetti dinner for bicyclists (and guests) on Friday evening for a strong and fast start and then host bike-cleaning stations to spiff up after the race.
Schools are back in session, and autumn is here to stay, but don’t fret, since we’re all smiles here at the KOA! Come to enjoy a relaxing time at our campground — not only to see nature’s display of beautiful colors but also to check out what Hayward has to offer at their Fall Festival. Afterward, come back and cherish the warmth of the fire and the whispering winds through the trees.
Originally established as a cross-country ski trail, the American Birkebeiner Trail is still the site of the classic ski race. It has also become a summertime fitness and recreational trail system catering to skiers, runners, bikers, trekkers and hikers – from casual day-trippers to elite superstars. In 2017, the challenging Birkie Trail Run, Relay and trek Events will take place through the Birkie hills on October 1. Put this on your calendar if you want to run at a recreational pace or really hammer it on a great trail.
Apples in pies, apples in jars, apples to buy, apples in cars! If you haven’t guessed it, this weekend Bayfield will be showcasing their love for this all-time favorite fruit during their Apple Festival. Or, you can drive on over to Stone Lake to view the cranberry fields and join in the merriment of fall. You might need to don a jacket, but it’s sublime to breathe in autumn and watch the leaves dance in the breeze.
Now it’s time to say goodbye to all our camping friends; don’t fret or be bereft, we’ll see you around the bend!
