There are campgrounds and there are award-winning, family-oriented, critically-acclaimed, activity-filled, exceptionally-located camping destinations—like Hayward KOA. Please allow us to explain.
Award-Winning In 2014, 2015 and 2016 for the three years running, Hayward KOA received Kampgrounds of America's President's award, an honor presented in November at the annual KOA convention. The prestigious award is based on customer service scores given to the campground by that season's campers as well as KOA's annual quality review.
Family-Oriented At Hayward KOA, our mission is to create an unmatched family camping experience. We feel this is more important today than ever before, and we offer a venue and opportunity to get out of the city, get outdoors, breathe some fresh air, put away our devices and reconnect with each other in a fun-filled, pressure-free atmosphere.
The Good Sam RV Travel Guide and Campground Directory has a Triple 10/10/10 rating system designed to give campers a quick idea of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment. It's considered the gold standard of campground ratings. Each of these three categories receive a 1-to-10 ranking.
The scores here reflect the ratings Hayward KOA received for the second year in a row and we are very proud of this recognition.
While we would love to boast a 10 rating, something every campground aspires to achieve, we couldn’t be prouder of our 8.5 mark. Why?
Because the only way to achieve a 10 is to pave every road and RV site, which we just won’t do. Beautiful Wisconsin shouldn’t be covered up.
It just wouldn’t feel like a getaway into the Wisconsin Northwoods with all that pavement. Our very happy and loyal guests agree.
To us, this is a no-brainer. We don't like dirty washrooms or showers, either. That's why we're constantly cleaning and recleaning our facilities as often as every 15 minutes as use dictates. And, we will continue to do so!
The after the 10 indicates Hayward KOA meets the highest Good Sam standards.
This is all about appearance. Its' hard not to look good in our spectacular setting, but we make sure the grounds are always cleaned up, buildings are always maintained, noise is at a minimum, and that our campers are respectful. You have our word!
Activity-Filled Where else can you eat a pancake breakfast at a mobile kitchen, swim in a heated 80,000-gallon swimming pool, pan for gold, take on a 300-foot waterslide, get doused in chocolate, play mini-golf, jump on a giant pillow, float a river while watching eagles and catch a muskie? Nowhere.
Exceptionally Located Hayward KOA is located in the great Wisconsin Northwoods, not far from the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, a mere stone's throw from the gorgeous Namekagon River, a few miles from well-known Nelson Lake. Just a cast away from myriad muskie lakes and right outside the recreation destination town of Hayward, Wisconsin, home of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, the annual Lumberjack World Championships and Chequamegon Fat Tire Bike Festival. It doesn't get any better!
