October can be pretty chilly, so we are bringing the fun sooner with our haunted house, spooky fun time, trick-or-treating, costume & and site decorating contests. We can't pack this theme into an ordinary weekend, so we've extended the activities to three days of fun! It'll be a time for great memories, so book early before your site is gone!
2,500-plus bicyclists start their journey right on the streets of downtown Hayward for the Chequamegon Fat Tire Race. It’s a sight to see for young and old alike. Here at the KOA, we do our part by providing a complimentary spaghetti dinner for bicyclists (and guests) on Friday evening for a strong and fast start, and then we offer a cleaning stations to spiffing up your bike afterward. Oh yeah, we spiff you up as well in our large warm pool, that is still open!

Afterward, come back and cherish the warmth of the fire and the whispering winds through the trees.
Originally established as a cross-country ski trail, the American Birkebeiner Trail is still the site of the classic ski race. It has also become a summertime fitness and recreational trail system catering to skiers, runners, bikers, trekkers, and hikers – from casual day-trippers to elite superstars. In 2017, the challenging Birkie Trail Run, Relay and trek Events will take place through the Birkie hills on October 1. Put this on your calendar if you want to run at a recreational pace or hammer it on a great trail.
